Inside Story

Modern minimalism - with Next125

A refined next125 kitchen designed around clean architectural lines, natural materials and the ability to completely transform the space when required. Warm walnut cabinetry is paired with a dramatic stone island, creating a kitchen that feels as much like a piece of furniture as a functional working space.

The Requirement

The client wanted a kitchen that would sit comfortably within a high-end open-plan interior without visually dominating the room. It needed to provide everything required for everyday cooking and entertaining, while maintaining a calm, minimal aesthetic. A key part of the brief was the ability to conceal the main working area when it wasn’t in use, allowing the kitchen to become a much cleaner and more architectural backdrop to the wider living space.

Our Solution

We created the design using next125 cabinetry, combining rich walnut finishes with large-format stone surfaces to give the kitchen warmth, texture and a strong architectural presence. The main preparation and sink area is concealed behind full-height pocket doors, allowing the working kitchen to be completely hidden away when required. When open, the doors reveal a highly functional workspace with integrated storage, appliances and illuminated shelving. The island provides generous preparation space while also incorporating an informal circular seating area and integrated storage, creating a natural place for breakfast, coffee or conversation. A raised shelf element adds another layer of functionality while helping to visually define the island. The result is a kitchen that can shift effortlessly between practical workspace and refined living environment, minimal when closed, highly functional when open, and designed to feel completely integrated with the architecture of the home.
